Garden Benches

Garden benches add a very charming touch to gardens as well as provide a place to sit, relax and enjoy the beautiful garden you worked so hard to create. The best benches for gardens made of some type of wood or some type of metal. Plastic benches are not as expensive, but plastic will crack and break easily. So they are not the best option if you plan on using your bench frequently.

Standard garden benches are four to six feet in length, have a flat seat and a separate flat back, and are usually made of wood. This type of bench is surprisingly comfortable and, with proper maintenance, will last you a long while. More expensive benches add on to the standard bench in style, comfort, or both.

Some garden benches have intricate designs or beautiful carvings embedded in the back or in the posts. Some are longer than the standard length to accommodate larger groups, while others have a contoured back to add comfort. Usually the bench you decide will depend on your budget, your style and size of your garden.
